The international community needs to stop the military actions that have started at the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan, Russian State Duma deputy Boris Reznik told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Reflecting on Azerbaijan’s military offensive actions and the resultant death of a 12-year-old Armenian boy, the Russian MP specifically noted: “I perceive this as [my] own pain. The politicians should intervene, call for common sense, and sit at the negotiating table so that people don’t die.”

To the query on what measures should the international community take to prevent such actions by Baku, Reznik responded that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, the UN Security Council, and the European Union need to issue respective statements.

Azerbaijan launched outright offensive military actions along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, from late Friday night through Saturday morning, and using a variety of weaponry as well as artillery, armored vehicles, and air force.

As a result, a 12-year-old Armenian boy was killed, and two other children were wounded.

The Armenian armed forces, however, have destroyed three armored vehicles and downed two military helicopters and two drones of the adversary.
