An official statement posted on the website of the Greek police has noted that about 140,000 people were attending the “Macedonia is Greece” demonstration in capital city Athens, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

As per the Greek law enforcement, the aforesaid “patriotic” demonstration and the “anarchists’ response rally” took place simultaneously on Sunday, in downtown Athens.

In mid-February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece plans to submit a proposal toward settling the matter with neighboring Macedonia, and with respect to the latter’s official name.
