Despite political forecasts, no surprises were registered at the 5th congress of the Prosperous Party of Armenia (PAP) on February 21, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.
PAP Leader Gagik Tsarukyan did not speak of Prosperous Armenia Party’s stance on 2013 presidential elections. However, Tsarukyan expressed readiness to work jointly with the ruling coalition, for the sake of prosperity and strengthening of the Armenian statehood.
He stressed that the party has been working strenuously within the recent two years, meeting internal and external challenges, as a result of the global crisis. Tasrukyan underscored the ruling coalition proved to be effective in all issues. “Of course, there were some disagreement between the collation forces, but this is normal working process. “Prosperous Armenia” is determined to solve urgent problems within the ruling coalition,” Tsarukyan emphasized.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, Armenia’s ruling coalition includes Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia Party, and Orinats Yerkir Party (Rule of Law). The Prosperous Armenia was founded by Armenian businessman Gagik Tsarukyan. It debuted in 2007 Armenian parliamentary elections, winning 18 seats in Armenia’s National Assembly. Orinats Yerkir already expressed its support to Serzh Sargsyan during 2013 presidential race. However, PAP has not yet informed of its plans.
