YEREVAN. – Ararat Mirzoyan, the sole candidate from My Step alliance, has been unanimously elected the speaker of the Armenian parliament by secret ballot.

All 132 registered during the first session of the parliament participated in the voting. Mirzoyan received 131 votes.

Interestingly, Bright Armenia faction decided to support Mirzoyan and did not nominate a candidate.
