The issue of  the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement's ratification will be discussed and certainly approved in the Bundestag on April 4, Albert Weiler, member of the German Bundestag (Christian Democratic Union) and Chairman of the German-Armenian Forum, said during the March 26 event entitled “Armenia on the Road to Europe”. The event was organized by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung/Foundation of the Christian-Democratic Party of the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Foundation’s activities in Armenia.

He noted that very positive dynamics have been formed in the relations between Armenia and Germany. "We can state that Armenia attaches great importance to cooperation with the EU."

According to Weiler, the countries that have the Association Agreement with the EU, such as Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, and the countries that are trying to establish a friendly partnership with the EU, like Armenia, should be differentiated within the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

Touching upon the perspectives of the agreement, Albert Weiler noted that the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement defines a framework for political dialogue for the benefit of all parties, as well as stimulates the political relations of the contracting parties.

According to the agreement, he also said they would also try to reduce the possible tensions in the region and create good neighborly relations.
