A candlelight vigil was held Sunday outside the White House, and which reminded to the US president of the demand to recognize Armenian Genocide, the Voice of America Armenian Service reported.

According to those assembled, this demand is indispensible for restoring historical justice and preventing such tragedies in the future.

This time the participants in the candlelight vigil also expressed a special gratitude to the US states that had a special contribution in helping the Armenian people who had suffered from the genocide a century ago.

From 1916 to 1930, US citizens had provided about $2.6bn worth of aid to Armenians who suffered from this tragedy.

And on Sunday, the descendants of the Armenians who were rescued thanks to that aid had assembled in the US capital city, outside the White House, to once again voice their demand for historical justice.
