YEREVAN. – The police demanded that members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF)-Dashnaktsutyun Party Youth Union of Armenia, who are gathered outside the Education, Science, Culture and Sport Ministry building today in the hopes of meeting with Minister Arayik Harutyunyan and have sat in front of the ministry, to vacate the entrance to the ministry.

The police stated that this action of the youth was not in line with the law on freedom of assembly, demanded that the demonstrators vacate the entrance to the ministry, and gave them five minutes to do so.

After that time, the police forcibly tried to remove the youth sitting in front of the ministry, but the youth resisted, and the situation remained tense.

Prior to sitting in front of the ministry, the ARF youth had proposed to meet with the minister, but after being refused, they tried to enter the ministry building, and then they sat near the entrance of the ministry.
