The Armenian Parliament discussed Thursday a readmission agreement between Armenia and the Czech Republic.

The purpose of this agreement is to establish quick and effective procedures for identification and safe regulated return of persons who live in Armenia or in EU member states without the appropriate permission, said Armen Ghazaryan, head of the State Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development.

The agreement was signed on April 19, 2013, and entered into force on January 1, 2014. The agreement defines the obligations of Armenia and the EU regarding readmission and procedures, transit operations, costs, data protection, and a number of other issues.
