Turkish F-16 fighters entered the Flight Information Region of Athens without submitting a flight plan, the Greek national defense headquarters said.
They were flying over the islands of Aignousa and Panagia in the eastern Aegean Sea.
Turkish warplanes were spotted and intercepted by Greek fighters in accordance with international rules of warfare.
