A suspect in a murder of 19-year-old Armenian young man was arrested on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Zareh Manjikian was previously arrested in Puerto Rico but local judges released him after he posted a bail.

The murder suspect was attempting to turn himself in, but was arrested before he could, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Mike Yepremyan was murdered in November 2009 after a scuffle in a North Hollywood parking lot. The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating the case. After an 18 month investigation, a primary suspect was identified and located in Puerto Rico. Zareh Manjikian, was captured by U.S. Marshals in May 2011, and placed in Puerto Rican custody.

Earlier U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder calling to recapture Zareh Manjikian.

“I ask you to use the full powers of your office to assist in the recapture of Mr. Manjikian, wherever he may be, and to bring him to justice,” the letter reads.
