YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The Lachin [(Berdzor)] road connecting Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] to Armenia does not operate since yesterday. An alternative temporary road of 4.7 kilometers, which will serve in the coming months, will operate. And the main road will be ready next spring.

Now the road connecting Armenia to Artsakh through the territory of Berdzor has started to operate. The first passengers who have passed along this road yesterday were the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, and the secretary of the National Security Council, Vitaly Balasanyan.

They left [Artsakh capital] Stepanakert around 18:00, reached Tegh village of [Armenia’s] Goris region by this road, then turned back to make sure that the road is safe and suitable for operation. From 20:00, other residents of Artsakh can travel on this road as well. Russian peacekeepers monitor the undisrupted operation of the temporary road.
