The volume of tequila production in Mexico and its shipment to other countries over the past three decades has increased by more than 500%, TASS reported, citing the director of the Regulatory Board for Tequila Production (RPTP) Ramon Gonzalez Figueroa. His speech was broadcast on the organization's YouTube page.
Conzalez clarified that Mexico produced 80 million liters of tequila in 1994 and 651 million liters today. Thus the growth was 526%.
416.8 million liters were shipped abroad.
