An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred in the southwest of Romania. According to RIA Novosti with reference to the Romanian National Institute of Research on the Development of Earth Physics, a strong earthquake occurred in Oltenia, Gorj county, with a magnitude of 5.2 at a depth of 15 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt not only in the capital of Romania, 207 km from epicenter, but also in neighboring Moldova.

There was no information about casualties and destruction.
