Gazprom is supplying gas through Ukraine in the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side through the gas metering station (GMS) Sudzha - 39.2 million cubic meters on February 18, which is almost 9.5% higher than the figure a day earlier, at the GMS Sohranovka the application was rejected, according to the message of the official representative of the Russian company Sergey Kupriyanov, RIA Novosti reported.

"Gazprom is supplying Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine in the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side through GMS Sudzha - 39.2 million cubic meters as of February 18. The application for the Sohranovka gas metering system has been rejected," he told journalists.

Since the end of May last year, except for certain days, the supply of Russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transportation system to Europe has remained at the level of 40-43 million cubic meters per day, but on January 4 this year the figure dropped below 38 million cubic meters. Then, on January 18, it was 32.6 million cubic meters, two days later it decreased by 25% - to 24.4 million cubic meters, and on February, 1 it increased to about 30-31 million cubic meters.

Experts noted that the growth of Russian gas supplies was due to the convergence of contract prices of Gazprom and the prices on the spot market (with immediate delivery, usually the next day).

In May 2022, Ukraine stopped receiving for gas transit through the Sohranivka GMS, citing the fact that it was under the control of Russian forces (on the territory of Luhansk). As a result, only one entry remained for gas transit to Europe - the Sudzha GMS. Gazprom stated that it is technologically impossible to transfer all volumes to Sudzha, all obligations to European consumers are fulfilled by the company, and transit services have been fully paid for.

At the same time, the transit contract between Gazprom and Ukraine stipulates that the guaranteed daily volume of pumping (from both sides) from 2021 is 109.6 million cubic meters.
