Fehlinger has no official connection with NATO. Daniele Riggio, Press Officer in the Press and Media Section of the Public Diplomacy Division at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, stated about this in response to Armenian News-NEWS.am's inquiry.

Austrian politician and public figure Gunther Fehlinger, founder of the "European Committee for NATO Enlargement," had written on X—former Twitter—as follows: "I call Armenia to leave CSTO. Armenia join NATO. [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan. Protect Armenia."

Those approaches and opinions are his own and do not reflect the point of view of the alliance. Despite the name "European Committee for NATO Enlargement," it is not a NATO committee or body, Riggio told us.

The "European Committee for NATO Enlargement" is noted in Gunther Fehlinger's Х account as a "non-governmental and non-commercial organization."
