US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien visited Tavush Province with the European Union civilian monitoring mission in Armenia (EUMA), the latter informed on X, former Twitter.

"US Ambassador Kristina A. Kvien joined EUMA on patrol to areas of the Tavush Province. The visit was facilitated by the Mission’s FOB [(Forward Operating Base)] Ijevan," the respective post reads.

On February 20, the 100-member EUMA was deployed in Armenia, with a two-year mandate. Its objective is to contribute to stability in the border regions of Armenia, confidence building in these places, and to provide conditions conducive to efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

EUMA has Forward Operating Bases in Armenia Jermuk, Goris, Kapan, Martuni, Ijevan, and Yeghegnadzor cities, as well as a communication and support office in capital Yerevan.
