Public hearings were held, on Wednesday in Armenia’s Hankavan village, concerning the operation of Hankavan Molybdenum Mine, EcoLur organization informed.  

The Golden Ore Company has received the right to operate the mine, which is located 0.5 km from Hankavan village and nearby a recreation area.  

According to Soviet data, the mine was to occupy an area of 10 km2.

Golden Ore does not rule out the possibility that, during operation of the mine, some river beds could be transferred.

And it is not yet clear as to how the mine’s operation would reflect on the recreation area.
