Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan commented on the decision by the European Council.
“I congratulate my counterparts from Georgia, Ukraine & Moldova, Ilia Darchishvili, Dmytro Kuleba & Nicu Popescu & the people of three countries for landmark decisions by EUCO [(European Council)]. This is a historic day for the European family, for those sharing democratic principles,” Mirzoyan wrote on X, former Twitter.
The European Council on Thursday decided to grant Georgia the status of a candidate for EU membership, and to start negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on EU membership.
