A magnitude 5.1 earthquake has struck Turkey, Turkey's emergency management agency AFAD said.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Menderes district in Izmir.
The tremors were recorded at 08:19 local time.
The tremor was recorded at a depth of 8.5 kilometers underground.
"Our governor has not received any negative news regarding the 5.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred as of August 19, centered in the Aegean Sea - Kusadasi - Menderes Bay. I wish all our citizens a speedy recovery," the Izmir Governor's Office said in a statement.
At the same time, AFAD said there was no "negative situation" following the earthquake.
"Field scanning works continue and our teams are on alert. We wish our affected citizens a speedy recovery," the statement said.
