Members of the Standing Committee on European Integration of the National Assembly (NA) on Thursday met with Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Armenia.

Maragos presented the programs being implemented in various domains in Armenia with the support of the EU, and their progress, the NA information and public relations department informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The ambassador noted with satisfaction that 550 million of the 2.6 billion euro support package planned for Armenia under the EU Economic and Investment Plan has already been allocated. In parallel with this, the reforms being carried out by budget support programs continue.

According to Vassilis Maragos, the EU is trying also to implement projects that will contribute to the creation of opportunities and added value in employment in Armenia.

The Armenian MPs, for their part, valued the Armenia-EU cooperation, and emphasized the effectiveness of the programs being implemented in Armenia with the support of the EU.

At the meeting, reference was made also to the new set of priorities of the Armenia-EU partnership currently under development.
