A total of 6,792 persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia wanted to be registered with the single social service, 4,418 of them received the status of unemployed, and 1,990 others were employed. Ruben Sargsyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, announced this during a press conference Monday.

"Those 1,990 people were hired without any plan. In addition, more than 820 people found jobs in the field of education," added Sargsyan.

And regarding the remark that only about 6,800 of the more than 100,000 Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians who were forcibly displaced to Armenia were registered in the social service, which is a very small number, the deputy minister said: "But from this program, there are various other tools, and the forcibly displaced [persons] can find work through various mechanisms. It is the international organizations, the local NGOs, the business [sector]. There may also be cases where a person is employed and we are not informed [about it]."
