Germany has raised about 1bn euros to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. This is stated in a statement by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, published by the country's government press service.

"To protect Ukraine from the Russian hail of missiles and drones, it urgently needs to strengthen its air defense. That's why, together with Defence Minister Pistorius, I launched a global initiative to strengthen air defense. Almost one billion euros have now been raised to provide additional support for Ukrainian air defense forces, and we are working intensively to make them even bigger," Baerbock said in a statement.

According to the foreign minister, they have "turned over every stone" and secured the delivery of an additional Patriot unit.
