Opposition MP Mher Sahakyan has died in a road accident Monday in Ararat Province of Armenia.
At around 4:30pm, the national crisis management center was informed that a car had fallen into a valley in the Tigranashen bends of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Meghri motorway and one person was affected.
A fire and rescue squad arrived at the scene, shamshyan.com reports.
It was found out on the spot that the car—which had completely turned into a scrap metal—had rolled about 350-400 meters into the valley.
Rescuers found a man's dead body in the car.
According to preliminary information, the deceased is Mher Sahakyan, a member of the opposition "Armenia" Faction of the National Assembly.
And the aforesaid faction confirmed to Armenian News-NEWS.am that MP Mher Sahakyan had died as a result of this tragic accident. He was alone in the car.
