Former chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia and former mayor of Yerevan, Robert Nazaryan, has died.

Nazaryan was 70 years old.

Robert Nazaryan had served as Deputy Minister of Energy of Armenia from 1997 to 2000, was Mayor of Yerevan from January 2001 to June 2003, and was appointed Chairman of the PSRC in 2003. In 2008 and 2013, he was reappointed to this position for five-year terms each.

In 2023, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia had demanded the confiscation—in favor of Armenia—Robert Nazaryan and his wife’s huge property acquired during their joint married life.
