YEREVAN. – Ryanair was obliged to arrange within two hours the transfer to Armenia of the persons stranded in Italy due to the problems caused during the Milan-Yerevan flight yesterday. Vaner Harutyunyan, co-founder and director of Passenger.am, an intermediary organization engaged in the protection of passenger rights, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am, referring to EU regulation 261/2004, which implies obligations by airlines.

"Ryanair offered to use the Rome flight a few days later, whereas they were required to arrange within two hours the transfer of those passengers to Armenia," he said. “Various people have tried to return by other means at their own expense. We are talking about 2-3 dozens of passengers."

And Gurgen Ghazaryan, co-founder of Passenger.am, told Sputnik Armenia that there are toddlers and pregnant women among these stranded passengers.
