YEREVAN. – April 7 is Motherhood and Beauty Day in Armenia. In modern-day Armenia, it is a national but not an official holiday, which brings to a close the “women’s one month”—from March 8 to April 7—in Armenia. 

According to the Holy Bible, it was on April 7 that the guardian angels gave the Virgin Mary the Good News that she will become a mother in nine months. 

For centuries, April 7 is marked in Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora as Women’s, Motherhood, Beauty, and Spring Day. 

On this day Armenian men give presents to their mothers, sisters, women, and girlfriends.
