South Caucasian states are very important for NATO, representative of NATO Headquarters Steffen Elgersm said in Baku.

He stressed importance of the South Caucasus for the alliance due to existence of protracted conflicts which creates instable situation in the region and beyond it, APA reports.

“NATO is an important part of European security architecture. We are interested in observance of principle of maintaining peace and stability in OSCE area,” the agency quotes Elgersm.
