The International Tchaikovsky Competition, which is held once every 4 years, is considered to be one of the most significant cultural events of Russia. During the last competition three young geniuses from Russia and Armenia won. Cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan was among them.

As Shanghai Cultural Information & Booking Center informs, after their victory the three arising stars have been invited to perform in world famous cultural centers like the Carnegie Hall in New York, Barbican Center in London, Baden-Baden Festival Theatre in Germany and the Suntory Hall in Japan.

The three young artists will perform in the Shanghai Grand Theatre in the framework of their world tour in May.

Cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan was born in 1988 in Yerevan to a violinist father and pianist mother. His primary education he received in Yerevan’s Music School after Sayat-Nova. At the age of 12 Hakhnazaryan entered Moscow’s Conservatory.

He was one of the three winners of the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011.
