GYUMRI. – Vardan Ghazaryan, 25, who raped a 10-year-old boarding school girl last December in Shirak region, was sentenced to 12 years in jail, Armenian News-NEWS.am reports.

According to rumors, the criminal gained the girl’s trust for weeks and later took her to dilapidated place and raped. At the same time, the Social Service employee confirmed information to the agency and added that the incident occurred beyond the responsibility of the boarding school, as parents have a right to take children for the weekends. Anyway, the child is back to school and a psychologist works with her.
