YEREVAN. - A reporter of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Armenian service Elina Chilingaryan was attacked near the 12/33 polling station at Erebuni district of Yerevan during the parliamentary elections, she told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The journalist approached a mini bus standing near the school where polling station is located. She noticed a group of young men near the polling station and started shooting a video. One of the young men came up and hit her hand where she held the camera.
“The camera fell on the ground then he came up and hit me again. I started shouting, they tried to erase the video. A scuffle broke out but I managed to take the camera back,” Elina emphasized.
Later the reporter was summoned to police where she gave testimony. Most likely, criminal proceedings will be instituted, police said.
