YEREVAN. – Armenia’s law enforcement intends to increase the number of video cameras and speed detectors at capital Yerevan’s streets by the end of the year, Deputy Road Police Chief, Police Colonel Hayk Sargsyan said during a press conference on Friday.   

In his words, thirty speed detectors are currently installed at twenty streets and ten video cameras are placed at intersections. 

Sargsyan also informed that 48,000 traffic violations were recorded once the video cameras and speed detectors were installed.

To note, fifty more speed detectors and eleven more intersection-video-cameras are planned to be installed by the year’s end.    

Also, speed detectors are expected to be placed on the Yerevan-Sevan and Yerevan-Artashat highways.
