YEREVAN. – If you have not worked, before the society, with the team you represent in your party’s list prior to the parliamentary elections, this approach will not serve its purpose, Armenia’s Heritage Party Parliamentary Faction Secretary—and former Ombudswoman—Larisa Alaverdyan said during a press conference on Saturday.

“I believe there was a trap here which Heritage was unable to sidestep,” she noted.

In Alaverdyan’s words, when a team is formed and it does not have members who previously have played a major role in the party’s and faction’s activities, this team becomes meaningless.

She, however, remarked that the body politic should not become disappointed, and hope that Heritage will nonetheless continue its policy.

Also, Larisa Alaverdyan reflected on the methods used during the country’s parliamentary election campaign and noted: “These were the elections with the most fraudulent methods. But the pre-election season was excellent in terms of the media [coverage]. We have not had such thing [before].”

She expressed a hope that these elections would be the final phase of smear campaigns and societal naiveté.
