YEREVAN. – Heritage Parliament group member Zaruhi Postanjyan sent a letter from the name of the MPs to Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan, Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan and Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan regarding the soldier who has declared a hunger strike.

“The soldier Suren Kirakosyan is on hunger strike for already 48 days. He complains of different diseases and demands proper medical aid. Heritage members Zaruhi Postanjyan and Raffi Hovhannisian visited the soldier in Goris prison and saw the soldier’s critical health condition.

If Suren Kirakosyan’s hunger strike continues, it will not only leave irrevocable effects on his health but will also endanger his life. He needs medical and psychological help which can only be provided in a medical center and by the interference by his parents.

We demand that proper aid is shown to Suren Kirakosyan so he will stop his strike.

We must not allow further victims because of our wrong decisions. The victims we already allowed are unforgivable,” the statement reads.
