YEREVAN. – The US dollar’s exchange rate continues to rise in Armenia’s financial market.

Its average exchange rate against the Armenian dram (AMD) comprised AMD 401.95/$1, at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Tuesday, and this is the first time since April 2010 that the dollar is sold at an exchange rate higher than AMD 400/$1. In addition, this rate a 2.45-point rise from the previous trading session, and this is the greatest upsurge in one trading session in the last 1.5 years.  

The NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange also broke another record on Tuesday, as the trading volume constituted $20 million. Larger transactions were conducted solely in Spring 2009. To note, however, the developments in Armenia’s financial market cannot be conditioned on the signals from international markets. 

And Armenia’s exchange offices buy and sell the dollar at the AMD 400-404/1$ range.
