YEREVAN. – Armenia’s political circles were impatiently waiting Wednesday for the end of the meeting between President Serzh Sargsyan and Republican Party’s Campaign Headquarters Chief—and former National Assembly (NA) Speaker—Hovik Abrahamyan. And, later, Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan joined this meeting, too, Hraparak daily writes.

“Those in the PAP were the most worried. Will the PAP enter the coalition? Will Hovik Abrahamyan head the NA? This will depend on his real influence on the PAP.

He must be able to liquidate from the PAP the second and fourth numbers in the PAP’s proportional list: [former FM] Vartan Oskanian and [United Labor Party Chairman] Gurgen Arsenyan. If this happens, he is NA Speaker.

Otherwise, he must blame solely [his in-law] Gagik Tsarukyan for his ‘death’ as a politician.

Incidentally, Tsarukyan will be out of the country for several days as of Friday. It is not known where he is going and to what purpose,” Hraparak writes.
