YEREVAN. – Head of the Armenian People’s Party of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Stepan Demirchyan will not submit withdrawal application and will preserve his MP mandate instead, he told Armenian News-NEWS.am adding he is responsible for the voters and the party.

As for the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s statement declining coalition formation and the further cooperation with the ANC at the parliament, Demirchyan said that cooperation is possible on particular issues, while full cooperation is possible only after the PAP becomes opposition.

The agency reminded Demirchyan about Republic party leader Aram Sargsyan’s claims, who left the opposition congress stressing that only pro-Russian powers are left within the ANC, and asked whether Demirchyan considers him to be one, the People’s party leader said that strategic partnership is within the interests of Armenia, following by interests of democratization and euro-integration. In addition, Armenia should run a balanced foreign policy.
