YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received on Thursday the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Philippe Lefort.

The sides stated with satisfaction that bilateral relations have recorded a significant progress in recent years. They also paid importance to Armenia-EU political dialogue and mutual visits on high level. On this ground, the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy’s upcoming visit will be an important part of Armenia-EU mutual cooperation process.

The President and the EU official also touched upon the realization of the reforms in Armenia supported by the EU.

Lefort said that the EU is interested in development of Armenia and the South Caucasus and desires to support the region and reinforce mutual trust between the states.
