The Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II recently received Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) President Berge Setrakian, along with his wife Vara Setrakian.

The Catholicos blessed and appreciated the AGBU members—represented by Setrakian—for their devotion to and assistance rendered to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

They reflected on the AGBU’s ongoing activities in the Armenian diaspora and in the Motherland, and the organization’s joint projects with the Armenia Church.  

In this connection, AGBU President extended his thanks to the Catholicos for his continuous support.  

The interlocutors also examined the current challenges in the Armenian national and religious life, and the Armenian Genocide’s 100th anniversary commemoration events to be held.
