YEREVAN. – Levon Tadevosyan, 11, was hit by a vehicle at the Metsamor city area of Armenia’s Yerevan-Armavir Highway, on Tuesday at around 9p, and he died en route to hospital. And Wednesday was to be his 12th birthday, Metsamor Police Precinct Chief Mushegh Ohanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am

The driver had left the child helpless and drove away from the scene. Levon had tried to cross the road with his bicycle, but he was hit by the car. 

It is noteworthy that yet another accident occurred while carrying out work at the scene of the incident. 

The driver of an unknown vehicle hit police officer Knyaz Hovhannisyan and left him helpless and drove away from the scene. Hovhannisyan was transferred to hospital. He did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

Much later, driver Knyaz Barseghyan of a Volkswagen Golf came to the aforesaid Precinct and informed that he is the one who had hit the 12-year-old boy with his car.   

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned that Barseghyan is a Police Patrol Service officer. The Police likewise confirmed this information. 

But the driver who hit the law enforcement officer has not yet been found.
