YEREVAN - People, political figures and parties do not trust the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) any more, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Executive Secretary Hovhannes Sahakyan told Armenian News - commenting on secret service former head, political figure David Shanazaryan’s recent leave from ANC. In his words, the recent parliamentary elections in Armenia came to prove that people love, trust and believe in powerful parties. “If we look back, we’ll see that Shahnazaryan is not the first to leave ANC. ANC consists of different political forces and political figures, today only some of them remain within the bloc and have obvious controversies,” said Sahakyan. As Armenian informed earlier, David Shahnazaryan left the ANC. , he told RFE/RL Armenian service on Thursday. “I left the ANC Central Office in March, before the [May 6 parliamentary] elections, and my political career in ANC is over,” Shahnazaryan said without telling the reason.
