YEREVAN.- Railway service between Armenia and Russia via Abkhazia is unlikely to resume, said Deputy Director of Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan.

There are many reasons for which the project seems to be quite unrealistic, he told reporters on Thursday.

The topic was previously discussed during Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze’s recent visit to Armenia.

“The operation of the railroad may prove that Georgia has coped with the situation. In this context, speculations on resuming the railway service are exaggerated,” he said.
