Electronic data carriers to be labeled in Armenia

YEREVAN. - The electronic data carriers either manufactured in or imported to Armenia must be labeled from October 18, 2012.

This amendment made to the relevant Armenian law will become effective from October 18, 2012. The requirement covers magnetic, optical, digital, laser and other types of electronic media. First of all it is done to protect the copyright and to struggle against piracy in the market of CD/DVDs.

State Revenue Committee by the Government will purchase about 2.3 million labels by September in the amount of AMD17.5 million.
