Armenia’s air temperature to gradually drop in coming days

14:22, 17.08.2012 Region: Armenia Theme: Society

There is a high-level fire danger in the valleys of Armenia’s Syunik and Tavush regions and in the Ararat Valley.

By and large, no precipitation is expected in Armenia on Saturday and August 22. Brief rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast at separate regions—and in the evening hours—between Sunday and August 21.

The winds will blow at a velocity of 3-8 m/second from the south, but this will increase to 18-23 m/second during the thunderstorms.

The temperatures will drop by 5-7 degrees Celsius between Saturday and August 22.

No precipitation is expected for the capital city Yerevan on Saturday and August 22. There is a chance of thunderstorms in the evening hours, from Sunday to August 21; there is a small probability of rain. The winds will pick up speed in the evening hours and blow at a velocity of 15-20 m/second.
