YEREVAN. – The Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Secretary General Hamadoun Touré on Monday.

Sargsyan emphasized that recent successes registered in Armenia are due to the cooperation with the ITU and its head, presidential press service informs Armenian News-NEWs.am.

The ITU Secretary General stated that Armenia takes part actively in the union’s works and is glad for Armenia’s progress. He also said that the ITU is further ready to support its member-state Armenia in providing and training qualifying experts and specialists, as well as in closer cooperation in other issues.

The sides bilaterally emphasized the role of the ITU in the state and securing people’s social-economic development.
