YEREVAN. – The people of Nagorno-Karabakh cannot feel safe in Azerbaijan, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said during his joint news conference with UK Foreign Office Minister of State David Lidington, who serves as Minister for Europe.

In Nalbandian’s words, the right for self-determination not solely stems from the UN Charter and it is a key precept of international law, but, also, it has a great importance in terms of security.

“The people of Karabakh cannot feel safe in a country where, during sniper shooting training, the soldiers fire at a target on whose forehead is written ‘Armenian,’” Nalbandian noted.

He also expressed confidence that the people of Nagorno-Karabakh cannot feel safe in Azerbaijan, where a murderer like Ramil Safarov is exemplary for that country’s law enforcement.
