YEREVAN.- For NATO there is no contradiction between CSTO membership and partnership with the Alliance, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative James Appathurai said in Yerevan.

“We understand that Armenia wants to pursue a balanced foreign policy and it is fine. In fact for us it is a good illustration that we are not in competition with anyone,” he told reporters on Monday.

He also recalled about the CSTO military drills held in Armenia this year stressing that “it was fine for us.”

“It is a good example that NATO does not impose. We wish to be on the same field as anyone else but in cooperation and partnership.”
