YEREVAN.- Armenia has an intention to develop relations with NATO, Armenian official said during a NATO seminar being held in Yerevan.

Deputy FM Ashot Hovakimyan underscored importance of the meeting between Armenian President and NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen as well as latter’s visit to Armenia.

Deepening of relations with the Alliance is aimed at improving country’s capabilities to resist various challenges, Hovakimyan added.

Peacekeeping efforts and participation of Armenian troops in Kosovo and Afghanistan missions are one of the key directions of Armenia-NATO cooperation.

“Armenia has started investing in international security,” he emphasized.
