YEREVAN.- Armenia's Premier Tigran Sargsyan received the delegation headed by Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics.

Armenia attaches importance to development of relationship with Latvia and is ready to make efforts to deepen cooperation in various fields, Premier said welcoming the Minister.

In his turn, Latvian FM noted that his country is ready to extend relations in different fields.

The sides underscored importance of increasing trade turnover between Armenia and Latvia. It was noted that the sides are working to set up Armenia-Italy inter-government commission which will give momentum to development of bilateral economic ties.

Edgars Rinkevics welcomed Armenia's reforms carried out within the framework of EU Eastern Partnerhsip program expressing hope that agreement to relax visa requirements will be signed with Armenia first.

Speaking about regional developments, Premier Sargsyan noted that Armenia is interested in regional peace and stability, while Azerbaijan and Turkey continue voicing warlike statements. He recalled that the protocols signed by Armenia and Turkey are frozen due to Ankara’s non-constructive stance which is recorded by the U.S., the EU and Russia.

Latvian FM underscored importance of creating positive environment for Karabakh peace talks within the framework of OSCE Minsk Group.
