Armenian Ambassador to Georgia Hovhannes Manukyan met with the Minister of Justice of Georgia Tea Tsulukiani and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

The press service of Armenia’s MFA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that during the meeting with the minister of justice, the issues related to the exchange of legal information and cooperation in the field of mutual legal assistance were discussed. Ambassador raised the issue of legal protection for citizens of Armenia, arrested, detained or serving sentences in prisons of Georgia. The two sides also discussed issues related to legislative policy and the possibility of harmonization of the legislation of the two countries.

During the meeting with the Ambassador the minister of economy and sustainable development of Georgia expressed the opinion that the cooperation between Armenia and Georgia can become one of the most important areas of economic development, and the need to expand cooperation.

At the same time, the minister expressed his readiness to continue cooperation with Armenia in the spirit of close partnership formed. Agreeing with the need to enhance cooperation, the Ambassador pointed out the importance of harmonizing economic and fiscal legislation, which will enable better protection of the rights of Armenian investors and will promote the investment environment.

According to the ambassador, the two countries have great potential for cooperation in various fields. In particular, the sphere of tourism was mentioned as a perspective field and the possibility of developing joint tourism routes was discussed.

The parties also discussed issues related to communications, in particular, the issue of restoring air routes between Yerevan and Tbilisi. Referring to Armenia's interest in the smooth operation of Georgian ports and railroads, the Ambassador stressed the importance of ensuring the unhindered transportation.
