STEPANAKERT. – The idea by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is a good one, Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] President’s Spokesperson David Babayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the idea by Ilyumzhinov to hold an Armenian-Azerbaijani chess match in Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to Babayan, it would have been good to organize the match between Armenian and Azeri children.

“Let the children contact, start to respect each other. It would contribute to the formation of a correct way of thinking,” he claimed adding at the same time Azerbaijan is likely to take steps for politicizing the issue.
